Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
This
is my fourth year as a teacher and I am thrilled to be back. I have lived in the Quad
Cities most of my life. Mr. Bollman and I have been married for over twelveyears. My daughter is in 5th grade and my son is in 6th grade. We also have a poodle, named Lacey. I like to go on family vacations and love to read!
I am so excited to have you all in our classroom. I look forward to working with your family and showing you all benefits that first grade has to offer. Our lessons in reading, science, and social studies will be based on quarterly themes involving communities. As
well as the normal fun stuff we do in primary school. I want to read a few
of my favorite novels and get your whole family involved in learning
what it takes to be a successful student in my classroom and at home.
I
want you and your family to come to me for help and for any comments
and questions you may have throughout the school year on anything we
are doing in the classroom. If the adults
in your family have any ideas that can contribute to our classroom,
they are more than welcome to share these ideas with me. You are what makes me want to teach. It is you, and families like yours, that will tell me when something works and when something does not work. As you learn from me, I will learn from you.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share this school year with you and your family. I look forward to going through the adventure that is second grade.
