Topic of discussion: Call to order 1:45 PM, roll sheet signed;
1. Report on National Career Pathway Conference attended by Perry Bentsen and Mallory Austin; noted positive information on Junior Achievement Company Program and wished the same program adopted in Rock Island;
2. Mentioned a need for student committee members;
3. Sub-group Career Cruising to library for demonstration;
4. Sub-group on Unified Grading System met;
5. Sub-group Career Pathways met.
Actions taken:
1. Career Cruising had a computer demonstration on web resources, logging on, and developing an individual portfolio;
2. Grading System developed a survey form to gather information;
3. Career Pathways reviewed courses offered at Rock Island and ACC.
Key Findings
1. Career Cruising computer access and individual portfolio available for students;
2. Survey on grading to be distributed to gather further ideas and information that cam work for all involved;
3. Career Pathways narrowed courses and realigned courses to able students to better their individual career preparation.

Career Pathways

Mal Austin led a demo of Career Cruising on the library computers. Two parents and two staff members participated in the demonstration. The demo included:
* logging into the Career Cruising website and taking a sample career interest survey.
* creating a personal portfolio to be able to return to and continue exploring careers based on sample survey.
Mal Austin described how Career Cruising will be implemented at RIHS. Mal demonstrated some of the features of the portfolio function, demonstrated the Advisor Homepage function, and described how the website will list schools that have programs that match potential careers identified to survey participants.
