1. Topics of Discussion:
a. Staff Survey for professional development ideas.
b. Supporting other action teams.
2. Actions Taken:
a. We discussed a plan to logically research the short-term professional development for all staff.
b. Actions were decided upon and documented (below):

a. Andy‚s Report:
i. Current training programs were identified, including PBIS, Differentiated Instruction, CRISS, etc.
ii. We need to incorporate into our survey a request to see how often the trainings should be held.
b. Mike H. took suggestions for items on the survey. He will write the survey and give it to Ben by Monday.
c. Ben will work with Mike Breidentstein to create an online version of the survey.
d. A special faculty meeting will be held to complete the survey in the library.
e. Results from the survey need to be ready for analysis and presentation by November 29th.
4. To Do Before Next Meeting:
a. Create Survey
b. Transfer it to an online program.
c. Administer the survey to teachers.
d. Share results with administration and staff.

Freshman ˆ Coordinated by Freshman Math Teachers
Initially:
Freshman will get assigned a math lab based on: ISAT, previous failure in 8th grade math, and teacher recommendation.
All other freshman will be assigned a study hall.
As year progresses:
Classroom Teacher and Math Lab Coordinator will determine if and when a student in math lab can be reassigned to a study skills.
Classroom Teacher and Math Lab Coordinator will determine if and when a student from study skills needs to be reassigned to a math lab.
The two above are based on:
Failure in class
Needs Homework Help
Absent for test or quiz (just in math lab for the day)
Retake Test/Quiz (just in math lab for a few days to retake)
Sophomores ˆ Coordinated by one Algebra teacher and two Geometry teachers not in Academy
Initially:
All sophomores assigned to a study skills.
After two/three weeks:

Juniors ˆ Coordinated by four Math and four English Teachers
Through the entire year:
All juniors will be assigned to a PSAE/ACT class and a study skills during 5th period. Half will attend the PSAE/ACT class first then lunch/study skills. The other half will attend study skills then PSAE/ACT or lunch.
The Math/English Coordinators will have two different groups/sessions of PSAE/ACT back to back with their assigned lunch all during 5th period.
The Math/English Coordinators will switch classes as they see fit to give each group both Math and English help.
Seniors ˆ Coordinated by study skills teachers (much like current advisory)
Through the entire year:
All seniors will be assigned a study skills. These study skills will be geared towards career goals. At least twice a week, the groups will work on skills such as writing a resume, job exploration, career cruising, listening to colleges admissions talk, etc.
