I do have web-site info. from my son, David...he's in the Environmental Health & Safety Dept at UCLA, and they have a web-site to check out your health & PREVENTION of injury at your work/computer station.... We do so much training w/ how to use the features of computer, programs, etc...it's great to know that we can prevent future problems (physically) by incorprating a few pointers from the health pros.

This is the Mars Rovers ( NASA) web-site; the photos are quite interesting and very timely...recommend to any elementary or secondary science or current events teacher.

We usually use the alphabetical choice to select our career and get the info.  But, I see that if you click on the homepage and scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a link for kids that may be better for the elementary level.

Ginger Long recommended:

http://www.kidlink.org

This is an award winning international collaboration project designed to bring students closer together through understanding and appreciating their sameness and differences. There are dozens of projects and forums to chose from, some last only a few hours, some can last for the whole school year. It is authentic learning across the curriculum, regardless of ability, or the number of computers in your classroom.

It is for K-2nd grade with story starters, activities for nersery rhymes, poems and games (especially for Apple) I found it very helpful for students with limited writing ability.

http://ghills.metamora.k12.il.us

This is a school site of which I attended a presentation on ways to increase technology in the classroom when I was in Springfield last October. The teachers presenting it, mostly concentrated on their class (1st grade-- http://ghills.metamora.k12.il.us/1b/1b.htm)but in looking around in the site, I found other interesting things that other teachers had completed.

Kendra Newton recommended:

http://www.ikeepbookmarks.com/Glenview_Library this actually is my favorites uploaded. This way, I can share them with students and staff, and work on them at home with a minimum of fuss. There are literally hundreds of sites here. I am in the process of organizing them, but it does take time.

http://www.emsd37.org/gvlib/index.html this is my webpage. The projects page are links that staff have sent to me to correlate with specific assignments. The more we do the more this is getting used.
